Back to the owl...symbol of wisdom, wit, piercing eye looks and immortality in my opinion....

Apparently the owls are viewed as harbingers of bad luck, ill health, or death. The belief is widespread even today in Africa..In Greek mythology, the owl, and specifically the Little Owl, was often associated with the goddess Athena, a bird goddess who became associated with wisdom, the arts, and skills, and as a result, owls also became associated with wisdom(wikipedia).............

I do prefer the latter description...it is really what you want to believe....but anyway symbolical talk to the side...
